This notice explains what Properhaze collects about you, why, who helps us handle it, and what you control. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell it.
Properhaze is run by a company registered in Kenya. We decide how your data is used, and we are responsible for it under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.
Your email address, the handle and name you choose, and the country and city you give us. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account’s id, its email address and your name, and nothing else: not your contacts, not your files. Your photo, cover and bio, if you add them.
When you sign in by email we send you a one-time code. We keep the code only in a form that can’t be read back, for 10 minutes, and the record of it, with your email address, for a day. We keep a scrambled form of your network address to limit how many codes can be asked for. Once you are signed in, a cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and we record the network address and device type of each sign-in, to keep your account safe.
What you post, the people you tag and the tags you accept, the events you host and the tickets you take, what you add to an event’s Crowdsource Tray, the Muziki credits you claim and songs you add, and the reports you file. This is what Properhaze is for, and it shapes your Feed.
Only the country and city you give us. When you sign up, we use the country your connection comes from to suggest yours, and to keep Properhaze out of the few countries we can’t serve. When Plot shows how far away an event is, that is worked out on your phone: your location is never sent to us. We do not track your movement.
Payments are not switched on yet: you cannot send or receive money on Properhaze today. Before they are, we will update this notice. When they are, payments will be handled by Paystack, and Properhaze will never see or store your card details.
No identity documents and no face scans at signup. Song recognition is not available yet, so Muziki does not listen to anything.
These companies process data for us, under contract, only to do their part:
Some of them are outside Kenya. Where your data is sent abroad, we rely on the safeguards the Data Protection Act requires.
You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya, or the data protection authority where you live.
Sign-in codes: a day. Sessions: until you sign out or 30 days pass. Your account and what you post: until you delete it or close your account. Reports are kept with their outcome, so a decision can be checked.
Properhaze is for people aged 18 and over.
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app first. Questions, requests or complaints: privacy@properhaze.com.
